About Sarah
I am an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, which means that I combine tools and techniques from different schools and traditions to help you with feelings of depression, stress, anxiety, anger and low self-esteem, whatever issues you bring to the session.
Based on my training, my theoretical approach is flexible and driven by your particular needs. I will be drawing upon tools and techniques from schools and traditions including Psychodynamic, Humanist, Existential, Gestalt, Transpersonal and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), integrating much so that I may best meet your needs. For a very brief description of these different therapy modalities, see the separate page headed Integrative Psychotherapy-Types of Therapy.
I started my career in an altogether different domain – firstly in the City as a trader, then on to film and television PR. On a personal note over many years I have seen the impact of mental health issues on the lives of those affected and on their families too and have equally seen how therapy can significantly improve the lives of loved ones. I have been witness to people in my life exploring their psychological worlds and seeking greater self-awareness. This inspired me to do the same, and since taking a decision to retrain in psychotherapy, have seen how a better understanding of oneself can lead to stronger and more rewarding relationships across the board and to more fulfilling futures.
I offer both short and long-term psychotherapy or counselling in the SW London area and on the Isle of Wight.
